The ICC Champions Trophy, previously called the ICC Knockout Trophy, is a major cricket tournament featuring the top eight ranked teams. The first edition was held in Bangladesh in 1998, where South Africa defeated West Indies in the final. Until 2009, the tournament took place every two years, after which it shifted to a four-year cycle.

The 2025 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9, with matches taking place in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In Pakistan, games will be played at National Bank Stadium in Karachi, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, and Rawalpindi Stadium in Rawalpindi. While in the UAE, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium will only serve as a venue for some of the matches. This event makes its comeback this year after an eight-year hiatus, with the previous tournament taking place in 2017 in England and Wales.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025: All teams

The eight teams competing in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 are India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa. As the host nation, Pakistan automatically qualifies, while the remaining seven teams secured their spots based on their performance in the most recent ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2023. This qualification format was introduced for the 2025 edition and will be followed in future tournaments, as per ESPN Cricinfo.

The tournament's top eight teams will be divided into two groups, each comprising four teams. Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and New Zealand are placed in Group A, while Afghanistan, England, Australia, and South Africa are assigned to Group B. Each team will play against the other three teams in its group, resulting in a total of 12 group-stage matches. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals. The victorious teams from both semifinal matches will then face off in the final on March 9, 2025, to crown the ultimate winner.
