West Indies players never hesitate in having a good time both on and off the field. Carlos Brathwaite is the latest sensation from the long list of powerful Caribbean all-rounders who are entertaining supporters all over the world.

Indian Express reported the 27-year old crediting the dressing room atmosphere as the major reason behind Delhi Daredevils’ impressive performance in this IPL. Following their victory over Kolkata Knight Riders, the Daredevils rose to the second spot in the table.

Brathwaite affirmed, “I won’t talk about past since I was not there but this year there is lot of stress on processes and solid preparations. It’s a fun dressing room. Then, players are good friends off the field and that unites them on the field under pressure.”

The burly all-rounder was named player of the match for his exploits in all three departments of the game. After providing the finishing kick with a lethal 11-ball 34, he came back to pick up three crucial wickets which dented the Knight Riders.

However, the Barbadian asserted that the 105-run partnership between young batsmen Karun Nair and Sam Billings was the reason behind the Daredevils total. He felt, “Then, pitch was true. But, Karun Nair and Sam Billings allowed me to bat where I wanted to bat. They laid the foundation.”

Brathwaite shrugged off the pressure aspect by alluding to tempered expectations and his calm demeanor. A powerful striker of the cricket ball, Brathwaite’s cameo eerily reminded onlookers about his sensational effort in the World T20 final at the Eden Gardens.

But, he chose to play down the comparisons by being pragmatic in his assessment. The right-hander noted, “It does not happen everyday.” Brathwaite also attributed the tournament rules for his non-selection in the previous contest.

He quipped, “It’s horses for courses. Imran Tahir did not play today but it’s not that he was dropped. I was not dropped. Only thing is that only four foreign players can play but still the one who is missing out gives same support to the team.”
