Delhi Daredevils played Rising Pune Supergiants on 5 May 2016 at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Delhi Daredevils are flying high in the top half of the table. A comfortable win today should propel them to the top of the table. Plagued by injuries, Rising Pune Supergiants is inconsistent this year. Pune was hoping to turn their fortunes around with this game.
Rising Pune Supergiants won the toss and elected to field first.
“When we bat first we have not been able to defend so far,” Dhoni said.

A lot of changes for Delhi Daredevils. Quinton de Kock and Chris Morris are rested; Zaheer Kahn is not playing as well. JP Duminy captained the side.
Ashok Dinda removed Rishabh Pant early. Sanju Samson couldn’t get going and failed to make an impact. Consistency has been his problem in IPL 2016. Karun Nair looked in good nick but RPS’s Bhatia removed him in the tenth over.
It was up to Sam Billings and JP Duminy. These players were out to rescue Delhi after that mediocre start. Sam Billings was on fire; he started brilliantly. He scored 50 runs in just 24 balls.
Rising Pune Supergiants started with brilliance. Debutant Khawaja and Rahane put up 50 runs for the opening partnership. Rahane scored yet another fifty. This was his fifth half-century of IPL 2016.
Virat Kohli holds the Orange Cap. Gautam Gambhir is at number two but played more matches than his competition. David Warner is at number three. He also has the most sixes in the tournament.

Rising Pune Supergiants picked up wickets at regular intervals in the first ten overs. DD was in cruise control in the middle overs. Pune pulled it back well in the last four overs and restricted Delhi to 162 runs.
Bhatia and Boland picked up two wickets each.
DD’s Amit Mishra dismissed Khawaja. Imran Tahir took two wickets today including the crucial wicket of MS Dhoni. Yadav and Tahir were the better bowlers for Delhi Daredevils.
Pune was in control from the start and cruised to victory.
Andre Russell is the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2016. He picked up thirteen wickets in nine games. Mitchell McClenaghan follows him in second. Amit Mishra moved up in the leading wicket-takers chart.

Fielding in DD vs RPS match was outstanding. Sam Billings catch to dismiss MS Dhoni was mind-blogging. Pune was excellent too.
RCB’s AB de Villiers has the most catches in the tournament. While Parthiv Patel has the most dismissals as a wicketkeeper.
Fielding in IPL is fantastic. Watson-Wiese relay catch was splendid and is the best catch of the tournament so far.
