Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Kane Richardson admitted that Mitchell Starc is irreplacable. Speaking at the Kingfisher Bowl out Season 5 in Bangalore, the 25-year-old also spoke about what RCB have to do get back on track in IPL 2016.
Speaking about his compatriot, Richardson said: “No one is going to fill Mitchell Starc's shoes because they are so big but I mean whoever is playing his role as I have so far and Adam Milne and David Wiese, you are never going to fill Mitchell's shoes, you just have to do our best as a bowling group to cover for him.”
Royal Challengers Bangalore currently languish in sixth place with just two wins from their five games in this year's tournament and the fast bowler said that was because of their inability to bowl effectively as a group.
“We probably haven't done that in the five games so far, we've probably done it twice, so we just need to get back to what we do well and that is take wickets and restrict the runs,” he added.

Richardson also revealed why the side isn't near the top of the table and spoke about what they need to do to get there.
“I just don't think we are bowling enough good 6 balls every over. We are probably bowling about two or three bad balls every over and that is what is letting the opposition get away.
“I think we are really big on stringing six good balls together and doing it again in the next over and keep putting the pressure, so that's what we will be focusing on.”
T20 is a great challenge as a bowler
On bowling at the Chinnaswamy stadium and against batsmen whose mishits carry for sixes, Richardson stressed that you need to be able to bounce back.
“It is more mental than anything, you just got to be willing to get hit and then come back in the next ball and go again. So whether it is 2/45, that's a good night. It is completely different to Australia but that is part of the job here and it is a tough ground to bowl at.”
Bowling at the death is never easy and sometimes even the best-laid plans go to waste but the Australian fast bowler admitted that is a part of the game and that is why it is a “great challenge as a bowler”.
“I think the coaching staff are really good and if that is the gameplan and you stick to that and still get hit for sixes, then there's not much you can do about it. You just go back to the top of your mark and go again and hopefully next time they miss or it goes in the air, so that is just part of the game now.
“That's why people love watching it and that is why it is such a great challenge as a bowler,” he added.
