IPL 2016, RCB Vs DD Playing 11: List of today's Probable XIs for Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Daredevils

Things didn’t start well for DD but after winning the last match confidence of Delhi Daredevils will be high and they will try to play bold tonight when they will face RCB. But RCB has the home advantage. After losing the first match against KKR, DD made a superb comeback against KXIP. Amit Mishra’s 4 wickets made sure to stop KXIP to score. Quinton de Kock played very well in the last match and will hope to repeat the feat.

RCB thumped Sunrisers Hyderabad by 45 runs in their first match of the IPL 2016. Kohli and AB de Villiers played very well in the last match. RCB always had a good batting lineup but when needed they failed. But this year they have an addition to their team as Shane Watson. RCB will depend on Watson for bowling and batting both. RCB has the most destructive batting line-up of IPL but their bowling is relatively weak. RCB would be eying an 180+ total today. Chahal took 2 wickets in the last match but his economy rate wasn’t great. Watson is the man for RCB. He can bowl very well and he is the only bowler in RCB who can end his spell with good figures.

RCB has the strong batting lineup and we surely know that there is no chance to exclude any of their top 4 batsmen. As usual Kohli and Gayle will open the innings for them. AB de Villiers will bat at number 3 position. Watson will come two down. ‘Little Dynamite’ Sarfaraz Khan showed his skills in the last match. If he can continue his spectacular form then RCB can rely on him to finish the game. Kedar Jadhav can hit the ball too in last overs. Stuart Binny has played some good innings in previous editions of IPL but he is not consistent. He needs to start performing.

Harshal Patel is the fifth bowler for RCB but he hasn’t done anything yet. RCB always struggled with their bowlers and in this IPL edition also they have limited bowlers. When asked about the return of Badree in a press conference Kedar Jadhav said he has no idea when he will return. This clearly indicates that Badree won’t be available for this match. Cricket Australia included Mitchell Starc’s name in the squad for upcoming tri-series in West Indies. So most likely he will not play in this IPL edition. Kane Richardson is another option for them to replace Adam Milne but Milne was in good form during WT20. But seeing the last match, Adam Milne wasn’t looking good and there are chances that Kane Richardson may play.

DD :

DD has many young players on their side and last game showed that these young players can do anything. Quinton de Kock and Sanju Samson showed how good they can be. Shreyas Iyer has scored only 3 runs in last two matches. Although he was unlucky to get the wrong decision in the last match. Their top 3 batsmen have no competition to RCB’s top 3 but they can make a show. DD always had a strong middle order. This time, too they have the good batsmen in the middle order as JP Duminy and Carlos Brathwaite. Carlos Brathwaite showed his hitting skills in WT20. He smashed the ball out of the ground on his very first ball of this IPL. He is the perfect finisher and can smash some runs for DD in final overs. JP Duminy showed his skills in fielding against KXIP with a brilliant run out.

Skipper Zaheer Khan and leg-spinner Amit Mishra led the way to victory as DD scored their first points of this season. Zaheer Khan got the ball talking in the last match. He has more wickets at M Chinnaswamy Stadium than at any other venue. Pawan Negi is playing in IPL with a heavy price tag but he was unable to show his expensive skills during last two matches. Chris Morris was the best bowler for South Africa in WT20. So DD will be hoping he can continue his form. Carlos Brathwaite is decent bowler but when needed he can perform. In the last match against KXIP Jayant Yadav played and he provided good support for DD. The only question is here , ‘Will Tahir play?’ . Most probably he will not play because DD won their last match and there are fewer chances to tinker with the winning combination.
