An unbeaten 82 from Shikhar Dhawan and three wickets apiece for Ashish Nehra and Mustafizur helped Sunrisers Hyderabad thrash Mumbai Indians by 85 runs in Visakhapatnam and climb to first place in this year’s IPL.

After winning the toss and electing to field, Mumbai didn’t get the start they wanted as David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan raced off to another fifty partnership. Although Warner fell just two short of his half-century, Dhawan got his third fifty in his last six innings.

Despite losing Warner and Kane Williamson in quick succession, Dhawan formed a crucial partnership with Yuvraj Singh and the pair helped Sunrisers post 177/3 in their 20 overs.

In reply, MI got off to the worst possible start as they lost both openers inside the first seven balls. And it only got worse from there as Ashish Nehra ran through their top-order and the hosts had lost half their side before the end of the fifth over.

It was a question of when and not if Sunrisers would win from then onwards and it didn’t take long as Mustafizur cleaned up the tail to give the visitors an 85-run victory.
