Delhi Daredevils (DD)

Sanju Samson – 1/10

Sanju Samson had set up Delhi’s outstanding run-chase against Gujarat Lions with a 31-ball 61 a few nights ago. Last night, he failed to even open his account, hitting the first ball of Delhi’s innings straight into the hands of the fielder at deep square leg.

Karun Nair- 4/10

Nair looked the pick of Delhi batsmen during the team’s disastrous run-chase. After the loss of two wickets in as many overs, he went after Mitchell McClenaghan in the third, hitting two fours and a six. He didn’t last long, though, falling to Bhajji for 15-ball 21.

Rishabh Pant- 2/10

Cricket is a great leveller- a lesson nobody would have understood better than Pant last night. On Thursday, he was the hero of Delhi’s 214-run chase with a swashbuckling 43-ball 97. Faced with a similar task, the youngster got out for a three-ball duck.

Shreyas Iyer – 1/10

Iyer had a forgettable night both with the bat and on the field. He dropped a catch during Mumbai’s batting and could last only six balls during his team’s chase.

Marlon Samuels – 1/10

Samuels was at the receiving end of Rohit Sharma’s acrobatic brilliance in the field. The veteran West Indian all-rounder batted for five balls and scored a solitary run before being plucked by Mumbai Skipper at the first slip off Karn Sharma.

Corey Anderson - 3/10

Anderson has so far failed to live up to his reputation as a big-hitting all-rounder for DD. The Kiwi bowled two expensive overs for 29 runs and was able to contribute only 10 runs off 8 balls with the bat. He did claim the wicket of Simmons, but that turned out to be the only moment of happiness for him.

Pat Cummins – 2/10

Cummins had a dismal outing with the ball. The Aussie speedster went for 59 in his quota of four overs with his last over of the spell leaking 22 runs. He was able to reach double figures with the bat making him only the third of DD batsmen to do so in this match.

Kagiso Rabada- 5/10

Rabada was probably the pick of Delhi bowlers as he gave away 33 runs in his stipulated four overs, besides accounting for Rohit Sharma’s dismissal. The fact that he bowled to Pollard-Pandya combo at death and yet managed to keep his economy rate only a touch over eight made his efforts appear quite decent.

Zaheer Khan- 6/10

Khan bowled with a lot of heart again and showed that he still has in him what made him one of the best bowlers of this generation. His figures of 4-0-29-0 were simply outstanding in a match where rival batsmen plundered more than 10 runs per over.

Amit Mishra – 5/10

Mishra began well deceiving Patel with the flight to give his side a breakthrough in the ninth over. Unfortunately, the DD spinner ran into Pollard who tonked him for as many as four sixes. Take these sixes away and his figures of 1/37 from four don’t look that bad.

Mohammed Shami – 3/10

Shami bowled only two overs and went for 16 runs. The reason as to why he was not bowled at the death was inexplicable.
