IPL 2018 Auction: Best buys by each IPL team

Australia v Bangladesh - ICC Champions Trophy
Mustafizur has found a new home

#2 Ben Stokes (12.5 crores) – Rajasthan Royals

Super Smash - Canterbury Kings v Central Stags
Stokes was the MVP last season

Is there any question about this choice? Ben Stokes was the most expensive buy of last IPL when Rising Puse Supergiants signed him for a whopping 14 crore rupees. While his participation in this year’s IPL is still under scrutiny, there is no question that he will set the tournament on fire, should he participate.

Last season, he was chosen as the Most Valuable Player in the tournament. And why wouldn’t he? After all, he scored 316 runs and took 12 wickets in 12 matches for Rising Pune Supergiants. It was perhaps the greatest all-round performance in the history of IPL after Shane Watson’s heroics for Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural season.

And this season, Stokes will don the colours of Rajasthan Royals. Who knows, he might as well go on to emulate Shane Watson and help the Jaipur outfit to win their first IPL since their inaugural triumph.
