The last-placed Delhi Daredevils were meeting Mumbai Indians, who needed a win to qualify for the playoffs, in Delhi. Things were going Mumbai's way as they could pick up three wickets in 9 overs after asking Delhi to bat first. After the three wickets, Pant and Vijay Shankar built a half-century run partnership and stabilised the innings for DD. On the way to his sixth fifty-plus score of the season, Pant also became the highest run scorer in the tournament. After Pant's wicket, Vijay Shankar played a handy-innings by scoring a 30-ball 43 and helped his side to 174 in 20 overs.During the chase, Shreyas Iyer started the innings with the young wrist-spinner, Sandeep Lamichhane and was duly rewarded with the wicket of Surya Kumar Yadav. After that Mumbai never recovered completely as the wrist spinners took three wickets each and wickets fell at regular intervals. Of the top 5 batsmen, Evin Lewis with his 31-ball 48 was the only batsman to have made 20+ runs.Even after losing five-wickets, Mumbai seemed to have a chance as Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya built a 43-run partnership. But both the batsmen got dismissed in consecutive overs and pushed Mumbai into deep-deep trouble. Just when things seemed to have ended for MI, Ben Cutting played a stellar-innings as he scored 37 off 20 balls.Mumbai was back in the game as result of his cameo and they needed 18 off the last over, but eventually Cutting got out off the second ball of the last after hitting the first ball for a six. With MI needing 12 off 4 balls, Bumrah got out trying to keep Mumbai to keep in the game and the defending champions were knocked out of the tournament with an 11-run loss. Here are some of the Twitter reactions from the match:Delhi are hard to beat once they’ve been knocked out #DDvMI— Gaurav Kalra (@gauravkalra75) May 20, 2018Mumbai Indians Playoffs qualifying scenarios#DDvMI pic.twitter.com/p82yJ9zgiQ— Simply Comical (@iamshubhambhute) May 20, 2018Mi last year Mi this year #DDvMI pic.twitter.com/dG3mmNYvf5— Bhai_Saheb (@Bhai_Saaheb) May 20, 2018OHMYGOD.
