Gautam Gambhir has resigned as captain, there is no clarity on the fitness levels of Jason Roy and Chris Morris, and they made some inexplicable changes in a match against Kings XI Punjab, so it is anyone’s guess as to what sort of playing XI Delhi Daredevils will take the field with today.

But whatever they do, with Rishabh Pant already in and giving me a quality captaincy option, I don’t plan on getting any of their other players in on what is expected to be a bowling friendly deck.

Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, have a more settled line-up, with Andre Russell, who had an injury scare in the last match, being their only concern. The team management will know the importance of Russell's batting; therefore, even if he is fit again, I doubt they will push him into carrying the bowling load right away.

Considering the lack of all-round cushion, there isn't much value in getting the big-hitting West Indian into your team when he is batting as low as No.6. Chris Lynn is getting better, but I can wait on him till KKR play on a good batting deck.

I don’t see Sunil Narine’s batting coming off against a bowling unit that has Trent Boult, Avesh Khan and Liam Plunkett, so I have decided to keep him out too.

Nitish Rana gets in as the uncapped pick for the day, and with the Knight Riders' next match at Bangalore, Robin Uthappa makes his way as well, as I see him giving me at least one 50 plus score in these two fixtures.
