Mumbai Indians’ Yogesh Takawale took the most number of dismissals in the inaugural season of the IPL with 11 dismissals (10 ct 1 st). His tally was bettered the following season when Adam Gilchrist took 18 dismissals (10 ct 8 st) for Deccan Chargers. Gilly’s 8 stumpings is the most number of stumpings in a single season of the IPL.
Gilly’s tally was bettered in 2011 by another Deccan Chargers captain cum keeper-captain- Kumar Sangakkara. Sangakkara took 19 dismissals (17 ct 2 st). Sangakkara’s record still stands with Naman Ojha coming closest to equal it, having taken 18 dismissals for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2016.
