Mumbai Indians trounced Delhi Daredevils by 146 runs last year

Kolkata Knight Riders thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore by 140 runs in the opening match in IPL history. RCB came close to bettering their record when they beat Pune Warriors India by 130 runs.

RCB eventually bettered KKR’s 8-year long record by trouncing Gujarat Lions by 144 runs at Bangalore in IPL 2016. RCB had posted 248 with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers scoring 109 and 129 respectively. The 229-run partnership between Kohli and De Villiers is the highest for any wicket in T20 history. In reply, Gujarat Lions were bundled out for a paltry 104.

However, RCB’s record was broken the following year when Mumbai Indians thrashed Delhi Daredevils by 146 runs at Delhi. It is also the 5th highest win margin in T20 history.
