The very first match in IPL history saw KKR’s Brendon McCullum literally owning the RCB bowlers from the very beginning. Baz went on to score a blistering 158 from just 73 deliveries to take the Knight Riders to 222.
Since then, 24 centuries were scored in the IPL but none of them were even close to equalling McCullum’s 158. However, 25 proved to be the record-breaking number. On 23 April, 2013, Chris Gayle smashed 175 from just 63 deliveries against Pune Warriors India at Bangalore. This was and remains to be the highest individual score in IPL history and in the history of T20 cricket.
