IPL 2018, KXIP vs MI: Twitter reacts to MI climbs to 5th position on the points table after win over KXIP

Kings XI Punjab came into this match with only two losses in seven matches. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, had just two wins from eight matches.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl. Rahul and Gayle put together yet another half-century partnership, fifth in five matches. In spite of Gayle's half-century, Kings XI Punjab kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and could manage only 174 runs in 20 overs.

The Mumbai Indians started slowly and could make only 40 runs for the loss of one wicket in the first seven overs. But Suryakumar Yadav's half-century helped MI keep the run flow steady.

Hardik Pandya was promoted to bat at No.4 and made a useful contribution of 23 runs from 13 balls.

After the younger Pandya departed, Krunal Pandya joined Rohit Sharma in the middle. The captain made a 15-ball 24 but was overpowered by Krunal Pandya's hitting as he scored 31 runs from just 12 balls and the two sealed the match for MI with an over to spare.
