Pat Cummins was ruled out of the Indian Premier League with a back issue, after the first match. He was bought by the Mumbai Indians.

Cummins has had a long history of back issues following his debut in the Australian Test team and this injury flared up after he played 13 consecutive Tests for Australia.

Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc was ruled out of the 2018 Indian Premier League due to a right leg injury.

This came as a big blow to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) which acquired him for a whopping Rs 9.4 crore at this year’s auction. They roped in Tom Curran as his replacement.

Nathan Coulter-Nile

Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a big jolt when Nathan Coulter-Nile was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.

Coulter-Nile, who claimed 15 wickets from eights games for Kolkata Knight Riders last season, was a vital cog for RCB this season, but his absence has left a massive hole.

He was replaced by Corey Anderson.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti

Kamlesh Nagarkoti was one of India's brightest sparks in their victorious Under-19 World Cup, which prompted Kolkata Knight Riders to cough up INR 3.2 crore on him during the IPL player auction.

However, an injury to his foot ruled him out of the competition and Prasidh Krishna, the Karnataka seamer, was called up as his replacement.
