The youngster had a successful outing in the U-19 World Cup, having demonstrated an immaculate ability in batting. The 18-year-old right handed batsman struck three fifties and a hundred in the U-19 World Cup, which India won for the record fourth time after thrashing Australia by eight wickets in the final on Saturday.
Shubman scored 63 against Australia in the opening match, an unbeaten 90 runs against Zimbabwe, 86 runs against Bangladesh and an unbeaten 102 against Pakistan that helped India set up a finals conflict with Australia.
