David Warner led Sunrisers Hyderabad to their maiden IPL title in 2016

David Warner was initially signed by Delhi franchise in 2009. The 32-year-old was totally out of touch as he scored 163 runs in 7 matches in his inaugural season at a poor average of 23.28.

In 2014, Warner was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 5.5 crores. Since then, his career has scaled new heights. In the same year, for the first time in his IPL career, Warner crossed the 500-run mark in a season. In 2015, David Warner was appointed as the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad. The sensational opener was the Orange Cap winner that season with 562 runs to his name.

David Warner's best performance came in IPL 2016 in which he led the franchise to their maiden IPL title. Warner was the second leading run-getter in the tournament with 848 runs to his name at an astonishing average of 60. In 2017, he smacked 641 runs to become the second batsmen ever to win the Orange Cap twice in IPL after Chris Gayle. With 4014 runs, the Aussie batsman is leading the charts of highest runs scored by a foreign batsman in the IPL.

He missed 11th edition of the IPL due to involvement in the sandpaper gate scandal, but has made an amazing comeback, scoring 85 runs in SRH's first game in IPL 2019.
