The Kanpur-born cricketer is one of those seamers who bowls a heavy ball, that is, the deliveries seem to be quicker than anticipated by his built & bowling style. Ankit Rajpoot has played for quite a few years in the IPL, including 3 seasons with Kolkata Knight Riders, but the opportunities remained limited.

It was the last season with Kings XI Punjab, where he got the well-deserved recognition after picking 11 wickets from 8 games, including a memorable 5-wicket haul against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
