IPL 2019, Match 37, DC vs KXIP: Match Prediction - Who will win today's match?

Both these franchises have struggled in IPL in the last few seasons. But both of them have been impressive this season and a win in this match can open the gates to playoffs after a long time. Kings XI Punjab have a great record against Delhi Capitals as they have won 14 of the 23 encounters between these two franchises including one in the reverse fixture.

DC was in a great position to win the reverse fixture but they somehow managed to bottle the match after a horrible collapse. The hosts lost their last match against MI, and they would want to win against KXIP to put their campaign back on track.

KXIP had a good opportunity to put themselves in a great position to qualify for playoffs by beating a struggling RCB. They failed to do so as Virat Kohli's men registered their first win of the season. They, however, managed to get back to winning ways against a struggling Rajasthan side. They would be hoping to build on their great record against Delhi.

If DC bat first

DC batting faltered the last time around against MI. Most of the Delhi batsmen like pace on the ball and with the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch being slow, they struggle at home. One of the openers needs to play a big innings if DC wants to put a good score on the board.

DC should be able to score around 150-160 if they bat first against KXIP.

If KXIP bat first

KXIP has one of the best opening pairs in the tournament. If Gayle can fire, then it would be impossible to stop him even on the slow pitch. KXIP's middle order needs to contribute if they want to well in the tournament.

KXIP should be able to post a score of around 140-150 on the board.

Who will win the match?

This is a match between teams 3rd and 4th on the table so it will be a close game. DC has more quality spinners so they should be able to register a win against KXIP.
