Colin Ingram

Delhi Capitals showed a lot of belief in this year's IPL. A bunch of youngsters finally showed their mettle and were able to surpass all the expectations to emerge in the final four of the tournament. Delhi Capitals also showed a lot of trust in their batsmen and believed them to do their job. Pant, Iyer, Rabada, Dhawan and Prithi Shaw were absolutely brilliant in this year's IPL.
Delhi Capitals lacked a solid lower-order and relied too much on Risabh Pant. Colin Ingram, who was supposed to take care of that department, failed to do his duties right. The South African batsman is a name to reckon with in the shorter format of the game, but his inconsistency as a batsman in the Delhi side was very evident from his records.
Ingram played 12 games and could only manage 205 runs without any half-centuries or big game to his name. He averaged a poor 18.40, with a strike rate of 119.48. One would have hoped a more solid performance from the South African, but as his records in this year's IPL stands, that was not the case. Ingram could have been the anchor for DC's middle order, which would have definitely helped them get those extra points.
