#2. Delhi Capitals - Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan's transfer from Sunrisers Hyderabad raised a few eyebrows, but the Delhi-based franchise did pay a hefty price to trade in the local boy. Delhi had to release Shahbaz Nadeem, Vijay Shankar and Abhishek Sharma for Dhawan. But the move might prove to be a masterstroke considering Dhawan's experience and the stability he provides at the top. The Dhawan-Shaw partnership is something to look forward to this IPL.
The southpaw did not have a great start to the year, but he returned to form with a hundred at Mohali. Moreover, he was the leading run scorer in T20Is in 2018 and probably for the first time showed so much consistency in T20Is.
In the IPL, he has always been a stable and consistent performer for whichever side he has played. Add to it his immense experience against international bowlers and he is undoubtedly one of the best Indian openers in the tournament. If he carries his T20 form to the IPL, there is no stopping him from being amongst the top run-scorers of the season.
Rishabh Pant might be in the race too, but considering he will mostly bat at 4 or 5 and the team will have a more stable top order this time, the chances of him being the top run-scorer take a dip.
