At 17, Yashasvi Jaiswal has shown immense potential on the big stage, thereby triggering a wave of expectations around the youngster. Coming from a humble background, Yashavi made the right noises in Mumbai cricket circles before securing a spot in the India U19 team. Although he started his U19 journey on an underwhelming note, he made up for it with a few impressive knocks during the Sri Lanka tour.

However, the UP-born cricketer's breathtaking show in the recently-concluded VHT has turned him into a big attraction for the IPL franchises. Yashasvi played just the six games in the competition, but this was enough for him to score 564 runs at a Bradmanesque average of 112.80. His tally also included a double-century, the first teenager ever to do so in the competition.

A solid opener, Yashasvi can switch between both the modes of batting with ease. While he can take on the bowling at will, Yashasvi also possesses the innate talent to construct an innings and set the right platform for the lower order.

These attributes could be of use to multiple franchises because a talented domestic opener is always an asset in the competition.
