Sunrisers Hyderabad have four overseas players who pick themselves in the playing 11. David Warner, Kane Williamson, Jonny Bairstow and Rashid Khan need no introduction and are the nucleus of the team.

With Shakib Al Hasan being banned for a year, he will not be a part of the Sunrisers team in 2020 IPL. Also the franchise from Hyderabad will have to identify a few overseas players who could be a vital part of their team in 2020 IPL.

An injury to any of the key overseas players or an early return for international duty may hurt their progress in the IPL.

On that note here is a look at 3 such overseas players who Sunrisers Hyderabad could target in the 2020 IPL auction to strengthen their team:

#1. Mustafizur Rahman

Mustafizur Rahman played a vital role in guiding the Sunrisers Hyderabad to the IPL title in the year 2016. He picked up 17 wickets in 16 matches and was a match-winner with the ball. After playing a solitary game in the 2017 IPL, Rahman was picked up by Mumbai Indians in 2018 and a hairline fracture to his toe ruled him out of the 2018 IPL after seven matches.

He did not get the NOC from the Bangladesh Cricket Board to play in the 2019 IPL season due to fitness concerns to keep him fit for the 2019 World Cup.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have a bowling attack comprising mostly Indian bowlers namely Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddharth Kaul, Khaleel Ahmed, Sandeep Sharma and Basil Thampi. Sunrisers may look to get Rahman back into their team and form a formidable pace attack which suits their team in home conditions.

Rahman can be a replacement fir Billy Stanlake who did not play a single game in the 2019 IPL.

Rahman has been a game changer with the ball for Bangladesh and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the past and it will not be a surprise if he is back with the men in orange in 2020 IPL season.

#2. Ross Taylor

New Zealand v England - T20: Game 2

Ross Taylor last played IPL cricket in the year 2014 and since then has not found takers at the IPL auction. In 55 IPL games, the former Kiwi middle-order batsman has scored 1017 runs at a strike rate of 123.72.

Taylor is an experienced campaigner in the T20 format and in 84 T20I innings, he has scored 1699 runs at a strike rate of 121.96. The last two years have been successful for the Kiwi batsman in the T20 format. In 2018, in 10 T20 internationals, he averaged 38.20 and in 2019 he averages 33.14 in eight T20 internationals.

Sunrisers may look to bid for Taylor in place of Martin Guptill who could not give them the desired results in 2019 IPL season.

Taylor has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Pune Warriors in the past and is no stranger to IPL cricket. He is in the twilight of his career but is still an effective batsman in the middle order.

#3. Fabian Allen

The 24 year old all-rounder, Fabian Allen, could be the all-rounder who Sunrisers Hyderabad might target in the 2019 IPL. Shakib, as stated, will miss the 2020 IPL season and Allen could be his replacement for the Hyderabad franchise.

Allen bowls slow left-arm orthodox spin and is an aggressive batsman in the death overs. He made his international debut in October, 2018 in India but is yet to make an impact on the international level.

He has made rapid strides in the Caribbean Premier League and is an excellent fielder. In domestic T20 cricket, Allen has an exceptional strike rate of 168.51 with the bat. He has an economy of 7.52 with the ball in domestic T20 cricket and can contain the scoring of runs in the middle-order.

Allen is a relatively unknown name in the IPL and he will look to replicate the performances of his fellow Caribbean teammates and make a name for himself in the most lucrative T20 league in the world.

Shakib's ban will lead to change in plans.
