Prithvi Shaw: 6/10

Shaw was attacking in the powerplay for DC and his quickfire 19 off 10 threatened the RR bowlers. Unfortunately, after surviving one chance, he was caught and bowled by Archer off his second top-edge of the night.

Shikhar Dhawan: 3.5/10

Dhawan contributed in the field with a fine diving catch to dismiss the dangerous Buttler. However, his position seems the most uncertain among the players in DC's XI as he departed for just five off four balls after hitting the ball straight to the fielder.

Shimron Hetmyer: 8.5/10

Hetmyer came in at No. 6 in this game with a lot to prove. He fell short of a well-deserved fifty, but hit the bowlers to all parts in his 45 off 24 that set DC up for a big total. He was outstanding in the field, and took three high-quality catches.

Shreyas Iyer: 5/10

Iyer looked fluent, scoring four boundaries in his 22 off 18 and looking as if he was setting up for a big total. However, in a lapse of judgement, he was sent back after running for a non-existent single and lost his wicket in the process.

Rishabh Pant: 1/10

Involved in not one but two run-outs, Pant looked uneasy at the crease and was poor at communicating with his batting partners. His scratchy 5 off 9 did nothing to help the cause as well. The young wicket-keeper took the final catch of the RR innings, but seems to have picked up an injury which may add to his woes on the night.

Marcus Stoinis: 8/10

Stoinis came in at a difficult time for DC, and while his 39 off 30 was comfortably outshone by Hetmyer, he played a significant role with the bat. He took the two important wickets of Samson and Jaiswal with the ball to cement his all-round value for the team.

Ravichandran Ashwin: 8.5/10

Player of the Match Ashwin picked up the wickets of Buttler and Lomror, and was extremely economical despite Sharjah's notoriously small boundaries. He has only become more effective after the injury-forced break.

Axar Patel: 8/10

Every one of DC's bowlers got wickets and Axar was not one to miss out. While he was required for just two overs, he was miserly as he gave just 8 runs - less than half the number he smashed with the bat in a fine late assault.

Kagiso Rabada: 7/10

Rabada was the most expensive DC bowler on the night, but his skill still managed to get him three wickets, two of which came in the final over when the match was already won. He also took a fine catch to dismiss Tye.

Anrich Nortje: 7.5/10

Nortje did what was asked of him. He took a wicket, that too of the RR skipper, while giving away just 25 runs off his 4. The South African seems to be blossoming this season in his dual role as a wicket-taker and container at various stages of the innings.

Harshal Patel: 7/10

Harshal's unexpected promotion to No. 7 yielded mixed returns, but his 16 runs in partnership with Axar were important for DC. With the ball, he was impressive once again, and is likely to keep Ishant Sharma out for longer.
