A young and unknown Tamil Nadu batsman, Murali Vijay proved to be the main man for Chennai Super Kings in the year 2010. Even though he debuted for CSK in the year 2009, 2010 proved to be the golden year for him as he was in his top form that year. Vijay ended the 3rd edition of IPL by scoring 458 runs from 15 matches for his franchise.

Because of his stupendous performances, he played his debut international T20 for India in the same year. He played his first T20I match against Afghanistan on 1 May 2010 on the back of his IPL form.

Ravichandran Ashwin joined the Chennai Super Kings side in the year 2009. However, his debut season didn’t end well as he played just 2 matches and picked 2 wickets from them. But the year 2010 proved to be a magical one for him as he played 12 matches and picked 13 wickets for CSK in that season.
