Kolkata Knight Riders, over the course of 10 editions of the IPL, have enjoyed immense success, lifting the trophy on two occasions.

One of the most successful franchises in the league, the Knight Riders have been graced by some of the finest talents in the world including Chris Gayle, Gautam Gambhir, Sourav Ganguly etc. The impact of these star players is remembered by fans of the franchise.

However, there have certain top players who have flown under the radar somewhat. Here, we look at five players you might not remember were once a part of KKR:

#5 Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson grabbed the attention of the world with his performances in IPL 2013 while representing the Rajasthan Royals. He was one of the best young players in the tournament, averaging around 25.

However, before his exploits for Rajasthan, Samson was a part of KKR - in the 2012 edition of the competition. The youngster, despite his obvious talent, never managed to play a single game for the franchise and remained on the sidelines for the entire competition.

#4 Angelo Mathews

The Sri Lankan all-rounder was roped in by KKR ahead of the 2009 IPL, but he managed to play just one game that season, scoring 16 runs and not picking up a single wicket.

The 2010 edition proved to be far more fruitful for Mathews as he featured in 14 games and was amongst the runs and wickets. He amassed 233 and picked up 14 wickets, a praiseworthy effort.

Mathews went on to represent Pune Warriors India and Delhi Daredevils in subsequent editions.

#3 Siddarth Kaul

Siddharth Kaul was a part of KKR in the first two editions of the IPL. Kaul was picked up by the franchise after his impressive performances for India's U-19 side in the World Cup.

Kaul never played a match for KKR though and had to remain content with absorbing all that he could from the senior players in the side.

Kaul remained without a franchise for the next three seasons after which he was roped in by Delhi Daredevils and subsequently the Sunrisers Hyderabad where he is working his magic.

#2 Moises Henriques

The Australian played 4 matches, scoring 38 runs and picking 2 wickets. However, the following season, he was offloaded to Delhi Daredevils in exchange for Manoj Tiwary.

Henriques has turned out for the likes of Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad as well but remained unsold in the 2018 auctions.

Haddin was a part of the IPL for just three seasons, remaining with a single franchise across that period. Haddin was signed by KKR for USD 325,000 ahead of the 2011 IPL season.

A hard-hitting top order bat, Haddin was expected to get his side off to flying starts in the powerplay overs, but he played just 1 match, scoring 18 runs.

He did not play a single game in the next two editions and was released thereafter, never to set foot in the IPL again.
