A lot was expected from Colin Ingram in IPL 2019, after he was picked up for a whopping ₹6.4 Crore by the Delhi Capitals at the auction. The expectations went further up when he impressed in the Pakistan Super League just before the IPL; big things were anticipated from the ex-Proteas batsman.

But Ingram had a poor season, making just 184 runs in 12 matches at a poor average of 18.40 with not even a single half-century to his name.
One major reason for this failure was that he wasn't accustomed to batting at No. 5, which was the position he featured in for Delhi. Ingram often had no time to settle while batting, and was forced to accelerate - resulting in the loss of his wicket.
Delhi don't really need Ingram, who's a No. 3 or No. 4 batsman, and they should consider releasing him to free up an overseas slot. Releasing Ingram will also free up a lot of cash to use at the auction.
