Rahul Tripathi will look to replicate his IPL 2017 success this year

In their brief existence in the Indian Premier League, Rising Pune Supergiant had unearthed a promising talent in Rahul Tripathi. Opening the innings for Pune, Tripathi had played an integral role in his team’s journey to the finale. After the Pune franchise's exit from the league, the right-handed batsman became a part of the Rajasthan Royals.

The cricket universe had high hopes from him but the Royals could not use him well. In a few games, they used him as a top-order batsman while in others, he was sent in as a finisher. He did not have a clear idea about his role in the side and hence failed to live up to the hype he created during his time at Pune.

A lot of teams will have their eyes set on recruiting Tripathi, majorly due to his impressive performances in the recently-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. RCB needs a solid middle-order batsman who can anchor the innings while also playing the big shots when required, and he is an ideal choice for the role.
