Resist picking Narine

One would expect someone like Dhoni to plan well in advance to tackle the Narine menace in the powerplay.

He made only 12 in the last game against the Chennai Super Kings and we have noticed a pattern where Narine has succumbed to pace.

With CSK bringing in the likes of KM Asif and Lungi Ngidi - two men who can cause problems with their pace, the Narine threat should be handled.

There are plenty of other players who will cost a lot of money so picking Narine is actually quite tricky.

With CSK's batting line-up also looking in very good touch, Narine might become ineffective.

Is this Uthappa's game?

Take a punt! Go for it! Then again, is it really a punt? Robin Uthappa has been in very good hitting form in this IPL, striking them cleanly.

It's just that the big scores have evaded him, so will the fortunes finally change this time? He is good against the spinners and likes pace on the ball as well at the same time.

He looked in good touch against RCB the other night and prior to that, he made handy contributions against Royals, Kings XI and the Daredevils too.

Pick Rayudu and Dhoni

Not just because of their good current form. There are more reasons than just current form. Dhoni has looked like a completely different player in this IPL compared to the recent editions. He has been brutally striking the ball in the final five overs.

Rayudu on the other hand, has never had a strike rate as high as the one he is having this season. The way he has adapted himself to different positions in the batting order has earned praise from everyone.

With Faf du Plessis coming into the playing XI, Rayudu and Dhoni will be batting in the middle order. KKR have been quite poor at the death.

The likes of Shivam Mavi, Mitchell Johnson or Andre Russell have been finding it tough to contain the batsmen and in this form, imagine them running into Dhoni and Rayudu. Nothing short of carnage in my opinion.

Yes, Dhoni will cost a bit but Rayudu will still be available for a less price so you can certainly accommodate both in your XI.

Make use of CSK's death bowling issues

If you think only KKR have issues with the ball at the death, then you are totally wrong! CSK have had similar issues despite their stupendous run in the tournament.

As much as they have been spectacular in run chases scoring heavily in the final five overs, it's also a result of leaking almost the same amount of runs at the death.

They have been relying too heavily on Dwayne Bravo and the man hasn't been very consistent himself at the death to add to their woes. CSK do not use Watson a lot at the death and the others have also leaked runs.

We saw Asif getting slaughtered as well the other night on his debut and even though Ngidi looked a bit impressive, it remains to be seen if he can build on it against two batsmen who can absolutely hammer at the death.

Dinesh Karthik brings in a lot of experience in the slog overs and can tonk the ball. And at the other end, he will have someone like Andre Russell for company. Russell would want to make amends after his duck against RCB and remember the carnage he caused against CSK at Chepauk earlier this season?

If he can get one over Bravo again, then it will rain sixes at the Eden Gardens.
