Deepak Chahar (CSK)

From being just a new-ball specialist to being an all-rounder bowler, Deepak Chahar has come a long way in the last couple of years. The Rajasthan fast bowler has been leading Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) attack for two years now. He’s done an excellent job. In 2018, MS Dhoni used to finish his overs early on but in 2019, he improved his death bowling skills and Chahar is now CSK’s premier fast bowler.

In fact, he also did well for India and even took six wickets for seven runs, which is the best T20I figures ever. In 2019, Chahar picked up 55 wickets across all T20s before he was injured. It may be tough to come back from an injury but Chahar will be one of the Indian pacers to watch out for.

Aaron Finch (RCB)

Over the years, there has a lot of pressure on two big stars of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with the bat. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have had to do the bulk of the scoring on multiple occasions. However, the addition of Aaron Finch should ease some pressure on the two superstars.

With Finch, there seems to be a cushion at the top of the order. The Australian limited-overs skipper can bat in different gears but he invariably provides solid starts. Since January 2019, he averages 41.52 and has a strike-rate of 157.69 in T20 cricket. After missing the 2019 season due to the World Cup, Finch will be raring to go. While most of the limelight will continue to be on Kohli and de Villiers, Finch may well create one of his own and force the world to look at him.

Pat Cummins (KKR)

Pat Cummins has the talk of the town ever since the conclusion of the IPL auctions for the 2020 season. The Australian fast bowler was bought for a whopping INR 15.5 crore which is the second-highest ever in the history of the auctions. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) came in late in the piece to prize out Cummins.

Hence, there will be a lot of spotlight on Cummins. He’s been in terrific form. He hasn’t really played a lot of T20 cricket apart from the internationals where he’s been pretty good. The New South Wales fast bowler has the ability to bowl at any stage of the game and have a big impact. He is returning to the IPL after three years and he will want to leave a mark.
