Last year's finalists Gujarat Titans (GT) will host the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 45th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, April 28.

Since Hardik Pandya's departure to the Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the season, GT have lost their team balance, which has hurt them. The Titans, who were the most consistent team over the last two seasons, have won just four out of nine games so far this year. They are placed seventh in the standings with eight points.

RCB, on the other hand, have had yet another disappointing campaign this year. They languish at the bottom of the points table with four points under their belt. They have won just two of their nine matches, including a victory in their last outing against the SunRisers Hyderabad.

With the tournament reaching its business end, both teams will look to return with two points and keep their hopes alive of finishing in the top four. Thus, a cracking contest beckons fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium and they are expected to fill the ground in large numbers.

Much to the delight of fans, there is no chance of precipitation during the game in Ahmedabad, according to Accuweather. There will be no cloud cover as well around the stadium. Thus, an uninterrupted game is on the cards on Sunday afternoon.

However, the temperature will be high, hovering between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius. The humidity level will be low, ranging in the 20s.

"Virat Kohli was very, very aggressive in the powerplay but slowed down after that" - Aakash Chopra on former RCB skipper

There have been a lot of discussions about Virat Kohli's strike rate in the shortest format of the game and his place in the T20 World Cup squad, which is scheduled to take place right after IPL 2024.

Aakash Chopra pointed out how Kohli slowed down after the powerplay during RCB's game against Hyderabad. The former RCB skipper scored 51 off 43 balls at a strike rate of 118.60, including four boundaries and a six.

"Virat Kohli was very, very aggressive in the powerplay but slowed down after that," Chopra said in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel. "He probably scored only 19 runs off the last 25 balls he faced. He got out probably in the 14th or 15th over but his last boundary came off the third ball of the sixth over. Not even a single boundary came from his bat in the eight-odd overs after the powerplay."

Has Virat Kohli's strike rate impacted the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in this year's IPL? Let us know in the comments.
