Fans mock former CSK batter with RCB t-shirts & chants during TNPL 2025 match [Watch]

During a Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025 match, fans mocked a former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) t-shirts and chants. The former batter is none other than Subramaniam Badrinath.

Badrinath is commentating in the ongoing TNPL 2025 season. He was in the commentary box when a few fans waved an RCB t-shirt at him and chanted 'RCB RCB'. To his credit, Badrinath reacted with a smile and sportingly gave the fans a thumbs-up.

Badrinath made his IPL debut with CSK in the inaugural season in 2008. He spent six seasons with the franchise from 2008 to 2013 and scored 1,441 runs from 95 matches at a strike-rate of 118.89 with an average of 30.65 and 11 half-centuries. He was also a part of the RCB squad in 2015 but did not play a single game.

In the recently concluded IPL 2025 season, the Bengaluru-based franchise put an end to a long wait by lifting their maiden IPL title.

A contrasting IPL season for RCB and CSK

The IPL 2025 season was a completely contrasting story for RCB and CSK. As mentioned earlier, the Bengaluru franchise won the tournament to lift the IPL trophy for the first time in the league's history.

They beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final by six runs. RCB finished second in the league stage with nine wins and 19 points from 14 matches. Progressing to the playoffs, they beat PBKS in a one-sided game by eight wickets in Qualifier 1 to head straight to the final.

On the other hand, it was season of struggle for five-time champions CSK. They did not have a great start and to make matters worse, their skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, was ruled out early in the season due to injury. While MS Dhoni took over as captain, their fortunes did not change.

CSK failed to make it to the playoffs, finishing at the bottom of the table with just four wins and eight points from their 14 matches.
