Virat Kohli was last seen on the field on June 3, when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the IPL 2025 trophy by beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the summit clash. It ended the 18-year wait for Kohli and RCB as they became IPL champions for the first time.

"He might not be able to reach Sachin Tendulkar's record"- Aakash Chopra on chances of Virat Kohli breaking the 100 centuries record

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra recently opined that Virat Kohli might not be able to break Sachin Tendulkar's record of 100 centuries as he retired from Tests and T20Is. He felt that Kohli might not get enough games to get there due to the lower volume of ODI matches at the moment.

Speaking on the matter in a video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said:

"This job is extremely difficult when you have bid goodbye to two formats. I am slightly surprised why he has bid goodbye so early because he is 36 years old and is extremely fit. It's not that his bat is not striking the ball at all. However, if he has decided that he doesn't want to play two formats, ODIs aren't played that much."

"So, unfortunately, I don't think Virat Kohli will be able to do it, unless he revokes his Test retirement. It won't be a bad thing if he wishes to return. However, at this point in time, if all things remain the same, he might not be able to reach Sachin Tendulkar's record," Chopra elaborated.
