Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj was acquired by the Gujarat Titans for ₹12.25 crore on Day 1 (today, November 24) of the IPL Auction. Siraj was listed in Set 2 of the Maquee Players list.
Mohammed Siraj was earlier a part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), with the player being acquired for a sum of ₹2.6 crore. He represented them for seven seasons, picking up 83 wickets.
Ahead of the player auctions, the Bengaluru-based franchise decided to part ways with the 30-year-old player. With him entering the auction with a base price of ₹2 crore, a bidding war between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was underway.
CSK pulled out of bidding at ₹8 crore before Rajasthan Royals joined in. Gujarat Titans continued in the race and managed a final winning bid set at ₹12.25 crore. RCB were asked whether would they like to exercise their Right to Match card but opted against doing so.
Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer return with heavy paychecks at the end of both Marquee Players' set
Team India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and batter Shreyas Iyer became the top two highest-paid players at the 2025 IPL Mega Auction. Iyer was at the centre of a bidding war between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC), with the former securing his services at a whopping ₹26.75 crore.
When Rishabh Pant's name was pulled out of the bag, another bidding war began between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). RCB pulled out of the race before Sunrisers Hyderabad joined. LSG managed the winning bid at ₹20.75 crore. Delhi Capitals aimed to exercise their Right to Match card before LSG raised the price to ₹27 crore and acquired his services.
