On Sunday, June 8, Member of Parliament Priya Saroj was seen holding back tears of joy as she got engaged to Indian cricketer Rinku Singh at The Centrum in Lucknow. Priya completed her schooling at the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in New Delhi before going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Delhi University. The 26-year-old later pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Amity University.
Currently serving her first term as a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, she represents the Machhlishahr constituency in Jaunpur.
During the engagement ceremony, she was visibly emotional as Rinku placed the ring on her finger, marking a heartfelt moment for the couple.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Congress leader and BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla, Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Actress and politician Jaya Bachchan also attended the celebrations. Among the cricketing personalities present were former players Praveen Kumar, Piyush Chawla, and Uttar Pradesh Ranji captain Aryan Juyal.
Rinku Singh represented Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025
Rinku Singh last played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2025 season, which concluded on June 3, with Rajat Patidar’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) claiming their first-ever title.
KKR, led by Ajinkya Rahane, had a disappointing season, finishing eighth on the points table with 12 points from 14 matches. Rinku’s personal performance was also below expectations, as he scored 206 runs across 11 innings, averaging 29.42 with a strike rate of 153.73.
In total, the southpaw has played 59 IPL matches, scoring 1,099 runs at an average of 30.52 and a strike rate of 145.17, including four fifties, with his highest score being an unbeaten 67 off 33 balls against Lucknow Super Giants in the 2023 season.
