Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Sandeep Sharma made a vital incision into the Mumbai Indians' batting line-up in the ongoing IPL 2024 clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Suryakumar Yadav had been timing the ball well this year but mistimed one to mid-on as Rovman Powell took an easy catch.

The dismissal occurred in the fourth over of the innings as Sandeep sent down a scrambled seam delivery to Suryakumar. The 33-year-old batter tried to flick it to the mid-wicket region but merely sliced it to mid-on. Powell, stationed at mid-on, came forward slightly to take the catch.

It was also Ishan Kishan's second wicket of the innings as a smart DRS review earlier by Sanju Samson saw the departure of Ishan Kishan.

Trent Boult dismissed Rohit Sharma once again in the first over of the innings as he skewed a skier, with Samson taking an outstanding catch after Hardik Pandya chose to bat first.

With the Royals playing their final home game of the season, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bat first. The visiting side made three changes, bringing in Nuwan Thushara, Nehal Wadhera, and Piyush Chawla for Akash Madhwal, Romario Shepherd, and Shreyas Gopal.

Thushara is not part of the XI and will come in as an impact player when Hardik Pandya and company will bowl. The Royals, who are currently at the top of the table, made only only change as Sandeep Sharma replaced Kuldeep Sen.

The home side had beaten Mumbai when the two sides locked horns at the Wankhede Stadium. With the Mumbai Indians managing only 125 after batting first at the Wankhede Stadium, Rajasthan chased it in 15.3 overs with six wickets to spare as Riyan Parag slammed an unbeaten half-century.

The Mumbai Indians desperately need a win in Jaipur to stay in contention for a top-four spot in IPL 2024.
