Amid Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) stunning performance in IPL 2024, an old viral video of Rajinikanth, requesting the franchise's owner to make Kavya Maran happy by picking a strong team, has resurfaced.

SRH finished last in IPL 2023, winning only four of 14 matches. However, under Australia's ODI World Cup-winning skipper Pat Cummins, they have been exceptional in IPL 2024, winning five of seven games. On Saturday, April 20, they hammered Delhi Capitals by 67 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium to move to second position in the IPL 2024 points table.

While Sunrisers Hyderabad have been making waves in the ongoing edition, a video of superstar Rajinikanth from August 2023 is going viral again on social media.

In the clip, the legendary actor is heard urging SRH owner Kalanithi Maran to pick a strong team for the IPL so that her daughter Kavya (CEO and owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad) can have something to smile about.

During IPL 2023, a number of pictures and videos of Kavya captured her in a dejected mood due to her team's poor performances.

Kavya is among the most popular franchise owners in the IPL along with the likes of Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan (Kolkata Knight Riders) and Preity Zinta (Punjab Kings). This season, she's having a lot to smile about, thanks to Cummins and Co.
