Shane Watson's powerful century helped CSK win their third IPL title

SRH were playing their second IPL final and had the best bowling side in the tournament. CSK, to negate this threat, decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Kane Williamson was in tremendous form and he scored a brilliant 47. Yusuf Pathan's cameo of 45 helped SRH reach 178 in the stipulated quota of 20 overs. Considering that SRH had the talismanic Rashid Khan, 178 was a very good score.

CSK started their innings on a slow note scoring 25 in 5 overs. SRH had the best death bowlers and it looked as if the match will go down all the way to the wire. Shane Watson suddenly changed the momentum by hitting sixes at will. Raina and Watson put on 117 for the 2nd wicket and Watson completed his century and finished with a terrific 117. CSK won the match comfortably with 8 wickets.
