Sangakkara and White stitched the highest partnership in Deccan Chargers' IPL history

It was the 42nd match of IPL 2012 where Pune Warriors India were up against Deccan Chargers at Cuttack. The Chargers were in a disastrous position and were in desperate need of a win while PWI needed a win to better their position in the table.

Deccan Chargers batted first and lost Parthiv Patel in the very first delivery. They lost Shikhar Dhawan shortly after and were 23/2. At this point, Kumar Sangakkara and Cameron White were at the crease.

The duo began slowly but as the innings progressed, they began to elevate DC's run-rate. White and Sangakkara were smashing the Pune bowlers all across the ground. Both players reached their fifties and added 157 runs for the third wicket, bettering the 152-run stand between Murali Vijay and Albie Morkel against Rajasthan Royals in 2010.

White scored 74 from 45 deliveries while Sanga scored 82 from 52 deliveries. Deccan Chargers posted 186 on the board. Pune Warriors India fell short of the target by 13 runs.
