But it turned out to be a stroke of genius. Mujeeb has been the Kings' go-to bowler all season and has delivered most of the time.

The young Afghan has taken 14 wickets in 10 matches that he has played this season, at an outstanding economy of 6.69. Ashwin, the captain of Kings XI Punjab, has shown tremendous faith in Mujeeb by bowling him in crunch situations like powerplays and death overs. The 17-year-old is a major factor in Kings XI Punjab's superlative performance this year.
