Hogwarts Legacy is an upcoming open-world, action role-playing video game being developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment .The game will be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in 2022.
Hogwarts Legacy will be set in the late 1800s, following a student at Hogwarts. The player will be allowed to choose their Hogwarts House and attend classes at Hogwarts, and explore an open world. In the game, the player character will learn to cast various magical spells, brew potions, tame magical beasts, and master other combat abilities. A morality system will play a role in the game. Players will also be able to customize their character's voice, body type, and whether they are a witch or wizard.
As an open-world RPG, Hogwarts Legacy is said to put you on an adventure in the wizarding world, where you get to be the "witch or wizard you choose to be. Since it is an open-world adventure, you won't just be exploring Hogwarts. You'll also be able to visit "new and familiar locations", such as the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village
Hogwarts Legacy is filled with various missions and scenarios that you'll encounter along your journey. A morality system will play a role in the game, so it's up to you to decide how you handle each situation. While it is a single-player experience with no multiplayer aspect that we know of so far, you will get to select companions who help you face your foes along the journey.
