Alexander Albon is a professional racing driver from Thailand. He currently races in the 2025 FIA World Formula 1 Championship. He was born in Westminster and raised in Suffolk. Albon is not new to the racing world; his father, Nigel Albon, was a racing driver who drove in the Porsche Carrera Asia Cup in 2007. Even his uncle, Mark Albon, is a former racing driver who drove in the International Formula 3000.
Alex Albon holds dual citizenship, as his mother is from Thailand. However, he drove in Formula 1 under the Thai flag. Born in 1996, Albon’s motorsport journey began with a successful karting career, followed by stints in Formula Renault, FIA Formula 3, GP3, and Formula 2. He made his Formula 1 debut in 2019 with Toro Rosso and was soon promoted to Red Bull Racing, where he achieved two podium finishes in 2020, becoming the first Thai driver to achieve this milestone. For the 2025 season, he is driving for the Williams F1 Team alongside Carlos Sainz Jr.
