Max Verstappen competes in Formula One, driving the No. 1 car for Red Bull Racing. Born in Hasselt on 30 September 1997, Verstappen is the son of former Formula One driver Jos Verstappen, a Dutch racing rally driver who now competes in the European Rally Championship.
Verstappen started racing in karts at age four and had a successful karting career from 2005 to 2013. In 2015, he joined Toro Rosso to compete in Formula One as part of the Red Bull Junior Team and became the youngest driver in Formula One history at the Australian Grand Prix. Verstappen was promoted to Red Bull Racing after he secured several point finishes in his debut season.
