Max Verstappen is a Formula 1 race car driver who competes for Red Bull Racing. Born on September 30, 1997, in Hasselt, Belgium, motor racing was not alien to him because his father Jos Verstappen was once a Formula 1 driver, while his mother Sophie Kumpen was a karting champion. Verstappen was born in Belgium, though he identifies as Dutch and drives under the Dutch flag. He became the youngest driver to debut in Formula 1 history at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix at the age of 17 years and 166 days with Toro Rosso. His talents soon made headlines, and he was transferred to Red Bull Racing for the 2016 season, in which he went on to win his first-ever Grand Prix in Spain to become the youngest race winner in F1 history at 18 years and 227 days.

Verstappen won his first Formula 1 World Championship in 2021; he was locked up in a season-long duel against Lewis Hamilton and snatched the title at the wire in Abu Dhabi. Verstappen dominated the following seasons, 2022, 2023, and 2024. In 2023, he broke the record for the most wins in one season (19) and made the longest winning streak in F1 history by achieving 10 consecutive victories. As of 2025, Verstappen has 64 Grand Prix wins and is regarded as one of the dominant drivers in the sport.
