The 2019 Copa America is all set for kickoff on the 14th of June and will go on for three weeks till the 7th of July. The finals will be held at the famous Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro. There will be 12 national teams categorized into three groups, competing in this year’s tournament.

Colombia are drawn in the same group as heavyweights Argentina. They also face Qatar and Paraguay later in the group stage. They will try their best to repeat the success of their 2001 campaign.
Copa America 2016 Results
In the 2016 edition, instead of the standard three groups format there were four groups. The four teams in all four groups play each other once and the top two teams progress into the quarterfinals. This is followed by the semi finals and finals.

Colombia would finish in third place, their best result since their successful 2001 campaign. They battled through the group stages and faced Peru in the quarter finals. The match was won in a penalty shoot out. However they were humbled against a great Chile side in the semis and would hold on to a one goal lead to win against USA in the third place match.
