The 2019 Copa America Consists of 12 teams, initially the 2019 Copa America teams were to be 16, inviting six teams outside CONMEBOL but later it was announced that only two teams outside CONMEBOL will be invited i.e Japan and Qatar. The 12 Copa America Teams are drawn into three groups of four, where each team plays 3 games in their group stage to qualify for knockout round.

The top two Copa America Teams from each group will directly qualify to the Quarter final stage and then top 2 third placed teams will also join them in the Knockout games.

Host Brazil are in Group A with Bolivia, Venezuela and Peru where as one of the title contenders Argentina are in Group B with Colombia, Paraguay and Qatar. The 15 times Copa America Champions Uruguay along with the last Copa America Winners Chile, are in Group C along with Ecuador and Japan.
