How much will Copa America tickets cost?

Last Modified Jul 15, 2024 16:56 GMT

The month of June is turning out to be one of the biggest footballing carnivals of the year with the Copa America and the European Championship kicking off at the same time. In fact, the two tournaments have their finals on the same day!

Copa America 2024 will be even more special because the tournament will feature 16 teams instead of 10. Previous iterations of the tournament have had just two groups of five teams each. The top two teams from each group have directly played the semi-finals of the tournament. However, Copa America 2024 will have four groups with four teams each and will thus have a quarter-final round.

Despite all the streaming and broadcasting options, the experience of living the game occurs in no other place but the stadium. So, how much do the Copa America tickets cost? Let’s find out.

What is the cost of Copa America 2024 tickets?

According to Yahoo Sport, almost 1 million tickets have been sold in Copa America 2024 so far which equates to roughly 31,000 tickets per game. However, the distribution will be not as balanced because matches featuring teams like Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay will naturally have bigger crowds. On the contrary, other matches have a chance of going relatively empty.

One reason for the lower ticket sales in some matches is the obscenely high ticket prices, especially in marquee matches.

For instance, an upper-deck ticket in the Argentina vs Canada match at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium might set one back by $307. Even other games with perceivably lesser demand will be selling tickets for as high as $200 apiece. The average ticket price across the tournament is $283 according to Vivid Seats.

In previous iterations of Copa America, CONMEBOL has been the sole authority behind the fan experience and has enjoyed monopoly over controlling ticket prices. However, in Copa America 2024, several profit-oriented third parties have become interested, which has resulted in inflated ticket prices across the whole tournament.
