England cricket star Sam Curran has talked about his love for Chelsea and his experience of supporting the club.

Curran, who is currently playing in the Indian Premier League for Chennai Super Kings, is seen as a burgeoning talent for England with a bright future in the game.

"I am sure there are a lot of fans in India watching Chelsea games"

Curran gave an interview to the official Chelsea website and admitted that it is not easy to follow the Blues due to his commitment to cricket.

"I tour quite a lot, including to India for the IPL, which is a great deal of fun, so I don’t come to Chelsea as much as I’d like which is annoying because I love coming to Chelsea."

The 22-year old also admitted that Chelsea have a lot of followers in India.

"My first time in India was pretty amazing in terms of 50,000 people screaming at us on the pitch, which is pretty cool, and Chelsea have great support around the world and they can replicate that in a way. I am sure there a lot of fans in India watching Chelsea games."

Curran also stated that India cricket team captain and one of the best batsmen in the world, Virat Kohli, would make a good football player.

"I know Virat Kohli is a big football fan. I am not exactly sure which team he supports but I would say he would be a very good football player."

While Curran continues his good performances for the Chennai Super Kings, Chelsea have had an inconsistent start to their campaign.

They spent €247 million in the transfer window gone by, bringing in the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell and Edouard Mendy.

Despite their splurge, Chelsea only have six points from their opening four games, and were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Tottenham Hotspur on penalties.

The pressure is on Chelsea manager Frank Lampard to deliver, and it remains to be seen whether he is up to the task. Chelsea next face Southampton on Saturday for their latest Premier League fixture as they look to find consistency in their performances.
