The UEFA Europa League is an annual football tournament organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The second-tier competition of European club football was founded in 1971 as the UEFA Cup and then rebranded as the UEFA Europa League in 2009. Tottenham Hotspur became the first team to win the UEFA Europa League (then UEFA Cup) in 1972, beating Wolverhampton Wanderers in a two-legged final.
As of May 2025, Sevilla have won the most Europa League trophies with seven to their name. A total of 30 teams have won the competition, with 14 clubs winning the trophy multiple times. Atalanta are the current holders of the UEFA Europa League trophy as they defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the final in 2024.
