Amy Yang, also known as Yang Hee-Young, is a South Korean professional golfer born on July 28, 1989, in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. She turned professional in 2006 at the age of 17 and has since significantly impacted both the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour and the Ladies European Tour (LET). Yang began playing golf at the age of 10 and moved to Australia at 15 to further her golfing career. She gained early recognition by becoming the youngest winner of the Queensland Amateur Championship in 2005 and, as an amateur, won the ANZ Ladies Masters in 2006, making her the youngest winner on the LET at that time.

Throughout her professional career, Yang has achieved several notable milestones, including a total of nine professional wins, with six of those victories coming on the LPGA Tour. Her first LPGA win occurred at the LPGA KEB-HanaBank Championship in October 2013. Yang won the 2024 Women’s PGA Tour and has also had strong performances in major championships, with her best finishes being second place at the U.S. Women's Open in 2012 and 2015.
